Harrison High School marked the school's 20th year in part by launching the Harrison Hoya Hall of Fame to celebrate the school's athletic success. Six alumni were selected for the inaugural class, inducted in mid-October: Daniel Cobb, class of 1997, football, who went on to play quarterback for Auburn University; Adam Everett, class of 1995, baseball, who was a first-round draft pick of the Boston Red Sox in 1998 and has played in the major leagues for 10 years; Sean Hage, class of 1995, wrestling, who posted a 117-1 record on the mats and won state, national and world championships before going to West Virginia University; Corey Patterson, class of 1998, baseball, who led Harrison to its first team state championship, was drafted third overall by the Chicago Cubs out of high school, and has played outfield in the major leagues off and on since 2000; Audra Thomas, class of 1996, fast-pitch softball and track and field, who was All-State in discus and shot put and as a softball catcher before playing softball for Kennesaw State; and Dexter Mills, Harrison's first principal, 1990 to 1998, who launched the school into athletic success.
