Harrison High School is sending 20 students to the state-level Governor's Honors Program interviews in late January and early February, the final step toward earning spots in next summer's GHP: Nicole Laudick, communicative arts; Lauren Oden, French; Emily Phipps, Spanish; Claire Tinsley, social studies; Jacob Zimmerman, mathematics; Cilia Amason, Isabella Antolic-Soban, Cana Dunbar, Marianna Gunther and Rachel Ristau, visual arts; Valeria Angulo and Matthew Palfrey, music/strings-violin; Victoria Caracci and Megan Sargent, music/voice-soprano; Adalene DeVelvis, theater; Savannah McGraw, music/percussion; Perry Morris and Samantha Tang, music/strings-viola; Cullen Mowery, music/woodwinds-bassoon; and Ryan Tang, music/woodwinds-clarinet.
GHP is a six-week summer instructional program at Valdosta State University that is designed to provide intellectually gifted and artistically talented high school students challenging and enriching educational opportunities not usually available during the school year.
