The National Merit Scholarship Corp. announced today that Glenn T. Shrum, a senior at Harrison High School who lives in Kennesaw, has been awarded a National Merit $2,500 Scholarship for use at any accredited college or university next year. A committee of college admissions officers and high school counselors selected the winners in each state, including 62 in Georgia. Glenn is among approximately 7,800 members of the high school Class of 2011 who will receive scholarships through the National Merit program, including 2,500 receiving the $2,500 one-time award.
