Here are five things you should know before you leave the house today.

1. Say hello to blue skies for the rest of the week. Today will beΒ sunny with a high near 75 and a calm wind between 5 and 10 mph. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 47. Saturday and Sunday will also be sunny with highs in the low 80s.

2. is hosting An Evening for Japan tonight from 7 to 10. The fundraiser will feature live performances by Go! Robo! Go!, Dave Johnson and other local artists. All proceeds will benefit the The Japanese Red Cross.

3. The KSU Opera Theatre and Orchestra will perform tonight at 8 under the direction of Russell Young and Eileen Moremen. The performance will take place at Howard Logan Stillwell Theater, located in the Joe Mack Wilson Building. Tickets are $15.

4. Kennesaw Patch is in need of local bloggers. Whether you already have a blog but would like another outlet to reach members of the community, or have never blogged but have strong opinions, helpful tips, or special enthusiasm for local matters (whether local politics, food, art, education, etc.), please consider answering our call for local voices. Check for more information.

5. Did you sleep through The Royal Wedding? Take a look at this slideshow of the grand affair. (Note: someday, I'd like to attend an event like this for the sole purpose of sporting a fabulously over-the-top hat.)
