Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

A New Day at Kennesaw Patch

New editor Rodney Thrash takes the helm today.

For more than two months, Kennesaw Patch has been without a local editor.

That changes today.

As your new local editor, I'm excited to put the "Kennesaw" back in Kennesaw Patch.

To do that, I need your help. As much as I'd like to cover every business, every school, every church, every community group and every local achievement, the truth is that I'm one person. I can't do it by myself. That's why I invite you to post announcements and press releases, upload events, share your photos and videos, and become a Local Voices blogger. It is free and ridiculously easy.

1. Make sure you're a registered user of kennesaw.patch.com. There's no charge, no catch, no gimmick. Just enter your legal first and last name, email address and password. No partial names, nicknames or aliases, please.

2. Look for the "Contribute" header at the bottom of the homepage. Under that, click on the "Announce something to everyone" or "Put an event on the calendar" links.

3. If you're interested in blogging, click on the "Start a Blog" link on the Kennesaw Patch homepage. You can find it under the thumbnail of the second featured story.

4. Fill in all the fields. (You can even upload photos, PDF documents, logos, videos and YouTube clips to the file.)

5. Voila! You're done.

See. Didn't I tell you it was easy?

I can't wait to meet you at all of my "offices" around town. If you walk in Panera BreadStarbucks or Cuppy's Coffee, don't be afraid to pull up a chair and strike up a conversation with the freckle-faced guy with the MacBook and the green "Patch" sticker.

Now let's tell Kennesaw's story.

Together.

Rodney,
I am glad to see some new life come to Kennesaw Patch. The last few months have been nothing but nonsense. I hope you will bring something to the table other than articles about Kennesaw College, homes for sale, and what is the best place to get your nails done. I can tell you this, the majority of the people of Kennesaw don't give a "HOOT" about the KSU Owls or what goes on at their campus. Get into some real issues in Kennesaw or this site will be history. My advice to you is to get out of the coffee shops and cover what is going on in Kennesaw. Kennesaw is NOT a college town and never will be. Please never be politically correct and dig for important articles. If you do this, just maybe Patch will survive. If not, it will die like a door nail. In my opinion, the Kennesaw Watch is eating this site alive. Please wake up before it's too late to recover.

Congratulations Rodney! I know the people of Kennesaw will greatly benefit from you being the Patch Editor. My husband and I grew up in Kennesaw and moved to Canton. We will miss you in Canton! Best of luck to you!

Thank you for the support during my tenure as the editor of Canton-Sixes Patch, Denise! What a ride! I appreciate the kind words.

In late July the Kennesaw Patch was doing so poorly in their reporting of local Kennesaw issues that I put up a message board with my comments about how it could improve and also some info that I found online about Patch, one from the Wall Street Journal and I sent the link off to some Patch execs whose email addresses I found.

It might be worth your time to go take a look, or add a comment Here is the link for those who would like to take a look or contribute: http://tinyurl.com/8k62yo8
