After Connecticut School Shooting, Flags in Kennesaw to Fly at Half-Staff

"As a mark of respect for the victims," Mayor Mark Mathews issued the order.

United States flags in Kennesaw will be flown at half-staff to show respect to the victims of today's school shooting in Newtown, Conn.

Twenty-six people—20 of them children—were killed today when a man opened fired inside the elementary school where his mother worked as a teacher, according to Newtown Patch

The suspect later committed suicide and another person was found dead at a second scene, according to the Associated Press.

Flags within Kennesaw's city limits will remain at half-staff until Tuesday at sunset, city spokeswoman Pam Davis said.
