Fit City Finish Line Event Postponed

Scheduling conflicts have caused the conclusion to Kennesaw's Fit City initiative to be postponed.

Scheduling conflicts have caused the Kennesaw Fit City Finish Line event, which originally was scheduled for Dec. 8, to be postponed.

The event was planned to wrap-up the city's Fit City initiative, which promoted a healthy lifestyle through several events and activities, such as 5K road races, Field Day events, the weekly Kennesaw Farmers Market and a See It, Make It, Eat it cooking class.

When held, Finish Line event will be a chance for people who joined the program from the beginning to check their progress, as well as an opportunity for interested newcomers to get started. Baseline health screenings including cholesterol, weight, blood pressure and BMI will be offered to Kennesaw residents for free. The screenings will be supplied by healthcare providers Wellstar, Kaiser Permanente, Children’s Health Care of Atlanta, and Life University. Nutritional counseling and assistance with goal setting will also be available.
