What I would like to see in the Patch are stories about:
1) Is Bob Fox Director of Economic Development for the City of Kennesaw putting the squeeze on firms for upfront payments so that they can be approved to locate in Kennesaw?
2) Has Councilperson Chris Welch now hired an attorney to defend her aginst pending complaints of violations that Mayor Mathews is makeing? She of course was involved in getting the eithics complaint placed against the Mayor, now he is gunning for her with his own complaint.
3) Is the City about to fire Planning and Zoning Administrator Simmons for the second major zoning screw up in 6 months in not making it clear to the City that such a business is NOT allowed in the Kennesaw Historic District. Last screwup was the Pawn Shop and he got suspended for a week no pay, it was put around that he was 'on vacation'.

For the last few months, it seems to me Kennesaw Patch has lost its focus on the important things going on in Kennesaw. There are many things going on in our city that people need to know about. Personally, I am tired of seeing articles about Kennesaw College, the pet of the day, who is the best nail salon in town, and who has a house for sale. Come on Patch, step up to the plate and report on some topics that people are concerned about.

By the end of July I was so disgusted with how the Patch had gone downhill that I put up a blog on the issue and sent links to about 4 people at Patch whose individual email addresses I could find. Patch has indeed lost focus and it is to bad as when it started it was pretty decent. Take a look at what I said July 22nd:

I agree totally with you Bill. Kennesaw Patch is quickly becoming Kennesaw College Patch. I care absolutely nothing about the college and don't give a HOOT about the Owls or who supplies their uniforms. For some reason some people want Kennesaw to be a "College Town", I wish that darned college was somewhere else. College Towns grow up around colleges, like Athens, GA and Auburn, AL. I read Athens and Oconee Patch and I see very little there about UGA. Maybe Kennesaw Patch should become Towne Center Patch, that's where the college is, not in the town of Kennesaw. Like I say, I don't believe the majority of people in Kennesaw give a HOOT about the "KSU Owls and I don't think the college cares about Kennesaw. Most of the people up there don't even know how to pronounce the street it's located on. It is Frey Road, pronounced FRY, named after John Steve Frey, Sr., not FRAY road as most of them call it. If Kennesaw Patch doesn't start reporting on Kennesaw, I predict it will be Gone With the Wind soon.
