A Kennesaw store sold a winning ticket worth $1 million, Georgia Lottery officials announced today.

Karen Privette of Adairsville stopped by the Big Shanty Superette, 2778 S. Main St. N.W., to buy used tires for her husband's van. While there, she played the "50X The Money" instant game.

“I scratched it at the back of the store,” she said. “There were tears, and I felt joy and excitement.” 

Georgia Lottery representatives presented Privette with an oversized check Friday at the store where she purchased her ticket.

“I want to pay bills, pay off my daughters’ cars, pay off mine, buy my husband a car and pay off my mom’s credit card,” she said.
