Kennesaw State University Professor Allegedly Reached Down Teen's Pants

Kenneth Charles Robinson turned himself in at the Fulton County Sheriff's Office on March 1.

A 52-year-old Kennesaw State faculty member who was arrested on a charge of child molestation and sexual battery earlier this month allegedly reached down the pants of a 14-year-old girl, according to an Atlanta Police Department incident report obtained by Kennesaw Patch.

In the report, Atlanta police indicate that officers went to a home in the 2900 block of Lookout Place on Nov. 23, 2012, due to a report of possible child molestation involving Kenneth Charles Robinson, a Kennesaw State associate professor of management and entrepreneurship.

The 14-year-old girl told police that Robinson entered her room, got in her bed and began to talk to her about problems with her mother. They'd had an argument earlier because her mother was drinking and unable to spend time with her.

At some point during the conversation, according to the incident report, Robinson allegedly scratched the girl's back, first on top of her shirt and then underneath the shirt. As he continued scratching, he allegedly placed his hands down her pants and touched her buttocks. The girl told authorities that she pushed him away and left the room.

"After leaving the room ... she went to the room where her mom was asleep and laid down next to her for "a while" and then decided to wake her and tell her what had happened," the officer wrote in the report.

The mother confronted Robinson, prompting an argument and Robinson's departure from the home, records show.

Robinson told officers that there was never any contact between him and the teen girl. In fact, he told officers, the girl came to his room to talk about the problems with her mother and he asked her to leave several times because it was late.

There was no arrest on Nov. 23. And the gap between the date of the Atlanta police report and Robinson's surrender isn't clear. Robinson didn't turn himself in to Fulton County authorities until March 1. He was released on March 2 on a $100,000 bond, according to online jail records.

"The matter is still under investigation by the Atlanta Police Department," Kennesaw State officials said in the statement. "Robinson has been placed on administration leave from his faculty position, pending further review by University officials."
