KSU to Break Ground on Museum

Kennesaw State University will break ground at 1 p.m. today on an art museum that school officials say will "serve as a cultural resource on contemporary art."

The 9,200-square-foot Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art, expected to open in fall 2013, will house the university's permanent art collection and include three exhibition galleries.

It also will feature the Leo Delle Lassiter Jolley Foundation Collection Research Center as well as the Ruth V. Zuckerman Pavilion, a glass atrium devoted to the sculptures of Zuckerman’s late wife, who was renowned for her work in stone and bronze.

Zuckerman will be on hand for today's groundbreaking, which will take place at the construction site adjacent to the Dr. Bobbie Bailey & Family Performance Center, 1000 Chastain Rd.
