On Tuesday night the Kennesaw Police Department held a cookout for the people at Swift-Cantrell Park as part of its National Night Out event. The event saw a turnout of about 50 people.
National Night Out is geared toward educating residents about crime prevention. The officers met with the public, spoke with the citizens, and showed some of their equipment to the kids. They also grilled and served hotdogs for anyone who wanted one. The event was heavily sponsored by Target, who supplied the food, some free flying disks for the guests and some volunteers to assist.
