Five-year-old Xavier Sanders got a surprise before the start of Saturday's Blackwell Bears homecoming game.
His dad, Staff Sgt. Kelvin Sanders, walked onto the field at Noonday Park, according to 11Alive.
Father and son had not seen each other in a year. The senior Sanders returned Saturday from a year-long deployment to Afghanistan.
Watch the report from 11Alive's Marc McAfee for the touching reunion.

Thank you for your service! As a mother it brings tears to my eyes. I know how my son would feel if he couldn't see his dad for that long. God bless this family!!
