Southern Museum Celebrates Week of the Young Child

The museum will offer free and reduced admission as well as educational programs for kids under the age of 8 the week of April 12-16.

In celebration of Kennesaw's Week of the Young Child, the will offer free and reduced admission and special programs for kids under the age of 8 during the week of April 12-16.

Sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and established in 1971, the Week of the Young Child is designed to recognize that early childhood years are crucial in laying a solid foundation for children’s success.

Families will qualify for free admission for the first child under the age of 8, with additional children under 8 admitted for half-price.

The museum will also offer special children’s activities focusing on literacy, creative expression and railroad safety, offered hourly (unless noted otherwise) between 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

The following programs will be offered throughout the week: April 12 - Trains Tales; April 13 - Music and Movement; April 14 - Mommy and Me (10 - 11 a.m. only); April 15 - Creation Station; April 16 - Make It and Take It Workshop (10 - 11:30 a.m. only).
