Starlight Summer Concert Series

Kennesaw State's annual summer tradition kicks off with a Star Spangled Spectacular event Saturday, June 30.

The College of Arts is gearing up for the 2012 Starlight Summer Concert Series, a summertime tradition for more than 10 years.

The series of outdoor concerts kicks off with a free Star Spangled Spectacular event on the campus green Saturday, June 30, at 8 p.m. Admission opens at 6:30 p.m. The concert will feature music by the , culminating with a fireworks show.

All other Starlight concerts will be held on Sunday evenings at 7:30 with admission at 6 p.m. at the Legacy Gazebo Amphitheater. Guests are welcome to bring chairs, blankets and picnics. Lawn seating is available for all performances.

Β When: Saturday, June 30, 8 p.m.

Where: Campus Green at Kennesaw State University, 1000 Chastain Rd., Kennesaw.

What: Kick off your Independence Day Holiday with a patriotic concert featuring the Georgia Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. The program includes a sing-along of patriotic favorites and some classic American marches accompanied by a culminating fireworks show. In case of rain, concert will be rescheduled for the following day, Sunday, July 1.

Price: This event is free of charge.

Eric Lindell

When: Sunday, July 15, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Legacy Gazebo Amphitheater at Kennesaw State University, 1000 Chastain Rd., Kennesaw.

What: Straight from Louisiana and with plenty to sing about, Eric Lindell’s style of blues-with-a-smile is guaranteed to move more than just your feet. Lindell blends elements of jazz and R&B along with country twang and powerful soul into his special brand of blues.

Price: Admission is $8; table reservations for six are $75.

Suzy Bogguss

When: Sunday, July 29, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Legacy Gazebo Amphitheater at Kennesaw State University, 1000 Chastain Rd., Kennesaw.

What: With a shelf full of CMA and Grammy Awards, Suzy Bogguss' golden voice and songwriting prowess have made her a fan favorite for many years. In her show at the Gazebo, Suzy serenades the crowd with her take on classic American folk melodies, plus some of the hits that made her a star.

Price: Admission is $8; table reservations for six are $75.

KSU Faculty Jazz Parliament

When: Sunday, August 5, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Legacy Gazebo Amphitheater at Kennesaw State University, 1000 Chastain Rd., Kennesaw.

What: Favorites among the students and faculty of the School of Music, the KSU Faculty Jazz Parliament led by Sam Skelton showcases the fine faculty at KSU and other guests. Come hang with some of Atlanta's top performers for a spectacular night of jazz at the Gazebo.

Price: Admission is $8; table reservations for six are $75.

Table reservations are available for parties up to six and must be made at least one week in advance. Tables are $75. Reservations are only available for events at the Legacy Gazebo Amphitheater.
