Swift-Cantrell Goes to the Dogs
Paws in the Park will feature service dog demonstrations, information on pet care and a dog parade.
It will be a dog’s day in Kennesaw on Saturday, Sept. 15, when pups and their owners come together for a day of fun.
Paws in the Park will be held from 9 a.m.-noon, rain or shine, at Swift-Cantrell Park. Presented by Dream Land Pet Memorial Center and hosted by Keep Kennesaw Beautiful and Georgia K9 National Training Center, Paws in the Park aims to promote good pet behavior, provide educational materials about responsible pet ownership and teach owners how to dispose of pet waste properly for a cleaner and safer city.
The event will feature service dog demonstrations by Georgia K9 National Training Center as well as exhibits by local businesses focused on pet feeding, care and obedience. Free samples of pet foods and products and discount offers for services will be available.
A doggie parade will be held at 10 a.m., and costumes are optional. Dog owners also will be offered the opportunity to participate in the Primrose Paw Print Pledge, which encourages owners to always pick up after their pet.
This year, a variety of awards will be given for Best Trick, Best Dog and Owner Look-alike, and several other categories. In addition, owners can have their pictures taken with their pets by a professional photographer.
