The Weekender: Santa Claus' Arrival, Holiday Shopping and Festivals

Looking for something to do in Cobb and Paulding this weekend? Patch has a few suggestions.

 

TODAY

Santa Arrives at Town Center at Cobb

When: 6 p.m. today

Where: Town Center at Cobb, 400 Ernest W. Barrett Pkwy. NW, Kennesaw | Get directions 

Why Go: There are so many reasons. There will be entertainment by Radio Disney and face painting. Live reindeer will escort Santa Claus to his holiday home at 7 p.m. The first 200 children who visit Santa will receive a special gift. And all guests will receive festive giveaways while supplies last.

Price: Free.

Bentwater's Annual Holiday Shopping Event

When: 6:30 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Saturday

Where: 3730 Cedarcrest Rd., Acworth | Get directions 

Why Go: More than 30 vendors will have an array of gifts and handcrafted items for sale.

Price: Free, but be sure to bring money to support the vendors.

Day of the Dead at Village Taqueria

When: 7 p.m. today

Where: Lime Taqueria & Tequila Bar, 4600 West Village Place SE, Smyrna | Get directions 

Why Go: Village Taqueria will celebrate a popular Mexican tradition, the Day of the Dead, with a night of great food, special cocktails and live mariachi music.

Price: Free.

SATURDAY

Fall Festival and Yard Sale

When: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday

Where: Mount Nebo United Methodist Church, 3685 Nebo Rd., Dallas | Get directions 

Why Go: The festival will feature a cake walk, pie judging contest, live music and more.

Price: Free. Food available for purchase.

Cobb GOP Breakfast

When: 8 a.m. Saturday

Where: Cobb GOP Headquarters, 799 Roswell St. Northeast, Marietta | Get directions

Why Go: Whie you enjoy a southern breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, biscuits, gravy, juice, and coffee, hear from Gov. Nathan Deal, who will be the keynote speaker.  

Price: $10. Cash and checks will be accepted.

Fun Festival at Sacred Tapestry

When: 10 a.m. Saturday

Where: Sacred Tapestry UMC, 3000 Johnson Ferry Rd., Marietta | Get directions

Why Go: There will be a car show, food, crafts and more.

Price: Free.

We have to cover three counties in the weekend planner: Cobb, Douglas and Paulding. That's a total of 10 sites. We can't include everything from every Patch community.
