Such information trips are better for Planning and zoning and staff. The mayor should concentrate Read Moreon problems and intelligent solutions this city faces.

Voice Up. I believe the Council just went through an 'overhaul' as you call it, which is why thisRead Moretr ip was out voted. There are cities in Georgia as well as neighboring states that have done a tremendous job in re-vitalizing their downtown areas into vibrant, active, financially lucrative areas. I would say we visit those, sit down and talk to the group who brainstormed, planned, got the funding, and implemented it - we don't have to take a jet to discuss a viable plan or have conversations with knowledgeable individuals to give us guidance. As far as your volunteer applications statement, I received all applications, immediately covered the names and addresses, strictly looked at their listed qualifications and education (if they listed it) and where they would best fit. I then uncovered their addresses to make sure the nominations were representing each area of our City and no one section was heavy. I then made my list with suggested committee appointments and gave their name - last. This is the first year I have ever been involved in the process and intentionally wanted the process to be fair. We have gotten a lot of applications this year, and that's wonderful because as terms expire we are able to go back into the pile and pull those names. If you have filled out an application and have not been appointed, please give me a call and let's discuss - 404-849-0948. As far as number two, please give me valid examples. Number four, I have no idea. Five - I would love to see a cultural festival and have some plans from a few others I've been involved with. Please, give me a call so we can talk. Since you seem to have an interest in this I would love to have you involved with the planning and implementing. I would also love to see a kite building and flying contest at the park. One of our new council members, Jim Sebastian is a well-versed kite builder and I believe the children of Kennesaw would love to learn how to build one. Again, let's get together, I'd love to hear some of your ideas for our city.

Driving through Smyrna most Fridays or Saturdays, they seem to have a healthy (maybe some mightRead Moresugg est vibrant?) town squares. Very family friendly it seemed, as well. I think towns such as Smyrna, Acworth, (up-and-coming sports town) Emerson, and such are more similar to Kennesaw than I think Dallas, TX might be.

OK Joe I went and found what I think is the video. If he is being serious (and I suspect he is)Read Morethen we have a whole new demographic to work with in KTown. So now in addition to mandatory gun ownership one will also be required to ride a skateboard and be able to shoot while riding. Kennesaw its the place to be, Farm living is the life for me, Dude.......

Oh, he is very real and serious and our city has cuddled up with this guy to promote the skatepark. Read MoreHe is a fine example for our youth to look up to.

Joe this just confirms my fears about this skate park. Understand I think kids should be able toRead Moreska te if they want but this would be a job better done in the public sector with close parental supervision.

OMG I wish I had read this earlier. Today I tried to signup for an upgrade online. $39.99 plus aRead More$50 visa gift card for upgrade from basic cable to add internet service. Simple, right? I went through the whole online process and at the end I was required to "chat" with an "agent." The first guy was going to honor the promotion. Sadly, I somehow got bumped out of that chat, so I had to start all over again. The second agent informed me that the promotions were no longer available. Then why were they there on Comcast's website? I abandoned that chat to see if I could get another story, and sure enough, the third agent I spoke with said I could have the $39.99 promo but the gift card wasn't included. I complained and she did a "special ticket" for me to request the gift card. We'll see how that works out LOL. To top it off, the online form said there was no charge for installation. The agent on the phone informed me that it was usually $90 something but she could get me a special rate of $30 something. I pointed out to her that the online form said $0 for installation. So she went away for awhile and then came back and said she could arrange that for me. Comcast is a sleezeball company that regularly uses "bait and switch" tactics. I can't wait until they have some real competition in my area. I'll dump them in a hot minute.

Laurie, you wrote "I wish I had read this earlier; however it sounds as if you still signed up Read Morefor the "upgrade." I hope it works out well for you. I never rec'd. my gift card, was told as you were that it was not part of the promotion; however, I terminated service within a month and had an exorbitant bill. After posting on their Facebook page I eventually rec'd a call that my balance was $0, but am still waiting (months later) for something in writing. I don't need re-run cable television that badly. Do not believe their new commercial that implies that they have changed. Just go to Facebook and read the comments that come in minute-by-minute.
