The market opens for business this year on Tuesday, May 1, at the Adams Park soccer field parking lot, located at 2753 Watts Dr. in Kennesaw. The market will then be open every Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine, through the end of October. A beautiful spring day was the perfect setting Saturday for the Fit City Field Day event at Swift-Cantrell Park in Kennesaw. Councilwoman Cris Eaton-Welsh spearheaded the Fit City program and was on hand Saturday along with displays from Hybrid Impact, Big Peach Running Company, Advanced Pain and Spine Center and Farmers Market Baskets. Need that extra push to get into a steady exercise routine? The City of Kennesaw and Big Peach Running Company are holding a free Fit City Field Day on Saturday at Swift-Cantrell Park featuring 45-minute sample classes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Community members are invited to stop by the park to try out the Yoga, Zumba, Cross Fit or ClubJam exercise programs. Kennesaw residents came out in force Saturday to get involved in the citywide "Fit City" initiative, which encourages people to embrace healthier habits by promoting nutrition and exercise to combat obesity and improve quality of life. The City of Kennesaw's community-wide Fit City health initiative officially kicks off this Saturday, Feb. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ben Robertson Community Center. The event coincides with this week's launch of FitCityKennesaw.com.
