Let’s get off the couch and get moving!
The Big Shanty PTA is hosting a free "Family Fun, Fitness & Wellness Night" from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12.
Join us to shake it up with some Zumba and hip-hop, and enjoy a special martial arts demonstration. There will be a variety of health and wellness advocates in attendance promoting a healthier lifestyle and offering a variety of physical fitness opportunities right here in our own community. Parents and children alike will get to participate in fun activities to educate themselves on the latest health information.
There will be games, giveaways and even an interactive game show. The event is in support of one of the Georgia PTA priorities for 2013: “Support efforts to reduce childhood obesity and promote healthier children through physical education and nutrition programs in regular school programs.”

More About Big Shanty Intermediate School
Big Shanty Intermediate School serves students in grades three to five. Special programs include the school's Gifted Program and Accelerated Reader Program. Students may participate in after-school groups such as Science Olympiad, the Big Shanty Eagle Chorus, and the Big Shanty Drumming Eagles.
