More About Smith-Gilbert Gardens
Smith-Gilbert Gardens is a botanical garden and learning center located on 16 well-maintained acres. It features a variety of plantings, the historic Hiram Butler home and 30 contemporary sculptures. The grounds were originally developed to attract birds, but now the gardens are linked by paths that connect separate groupings of mature plants.
There are huge Japanese maples, a Bonsai exhibit, a camellia garden, waterfalls, a rose garden, two koi ponds and a conifer display. Educational programs are offered throughout the year for guests of all ages. The gardens are also available for private events.
