The Kennesaw-based boutique LiviRae Lingerie is devoted to educating women on bra fitting for breast health. Owners Molly Hopkins and Cynthia Decker – known as the sassy Southern stars of Lifetime reality TV series Double Divas – are committed to helping customers find undergarments that are not only beautiful and comfortable but also safe for their bodies. This passion fuels the shop all year round – but given that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, LiviRae Lingerie is working especially hard to spread the word for bust health.
Did you know that an improperly fitting bra can cause calcification of cells that may lead to tumors? Underwire that presses on delicate breast tissue is not only painful but also potentially hazardous. Cells naturally expand and contract (due to monthly cycles, hormones, weight gain and weight loss), and pressure from an ill-fitting bra can cause these cells to harden as a means of defense. These hard spots are usually benign but can turn cancerous.

· The band should fit snugly and create a parallel line around the body. If the band rises up in the back, creating an arch, it may be too loose. If it sits too low, the band may be too tight.
· The underwire should lie flat against the ribcage and away from sensitive breast tissue. If any part of the breast is being poked or is spilling out, this is a sign that the cup is too small.

· The straps should provide some support without digging into the shoulders. If the straps are holding too much weight, it may cause back pain.
