5 Things: City Council Meeting, Thursday Town Hall, KBA Seeks Professionals

Here are five things you should know before you leave the house today.

1. Today will be mostly cloudy with a high around 63 and a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Tonight's low will be near 46 with a 20 percent chance of precipitation.

2. Kennesaw Mayor Mark Mathews and Council members will hold a City Council meeting at starting at 6:30 tonight. Public attendance is encouraged.

If you can't make it to the Council meeting, be sure to attend a special Town Hall on Thursday, May 19. Mayor Mathews will discuss the state of the city, listen to constituent concerns and answer questions. He will be joined by members of the City Council, City Manager Steve Kennedy and the city's department heads.

3. In case you missed the announcement last Friday, the Kennesaw Business Association is seeking professionals throughout Cobb County to join its new Business Development Program. 4. is hosting its weekly Poker Night today at 7:30. Entry is free and top three places win $25, $15, and $10 bar cash. The top 10 also earn points to be entered into the Quarterly Tournament for a first place prize of $500.
