5 Things: Back to Work, Dinner at the Depot, City Council Meeting

Here are five things you should know before you leave the house today.

1. Starting today, I am officially back from maternity leave and will be resuming my full duties as your Kennesaw Patch editor. I would like to thank Donna for doing a superb job managing the site for the past several weeks while I've been knee-deep in diapers and baby wipes. Just as an update, little Leizel will be 7-weeks-old on Wednesday and is doing just wonderful. If you've been keeping up with my column, I'll have a new article up later today detailing my adventures in motherhood. While I've enjoyed the time off, I am excited and ready to be back in the Kennesaw community as your editor!

2. I'm also happy to be back at Patch just in time for the cooler fall weather. According to the National Weather Service, today will be sunny with a high around 72. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low near 43.

3. Be sure to bundle up for the city's first Dinner at the Depot today. is partnering with several local food trucks to host the initiative every Monday evening. Food trucks will gather in Depot Park on Cherokee Street in downtown Kennesaw from 5-9 p.m. Patrons can stop by to purchase food and enjoy live music while picnicking in the park.

4. While you're downtown, you might as well head across the street to for tonight's city council meeting at 6:30. You can read the full agenda attached to this article.

5. Did You Know? Today is National Virus Appreciation Day. Not really sure what this holiday entails. Not really sure I want to know.
