5 Things: Jiles Road Meeting, American Horn Quartet

Here are five things you should know before you leave the house today.

1. It's another sunny day in the neighborhood. Expect a high near 61 with a calm southeast wind between 5 and 10 mph.

2. The City of Kennesaw and the Cobb DOT are holding a public meeting tonight at 6:30 at  to update citizens on the Jiles Road improvement project. The meeting will review Phase 3 of the project, which includes the widening of Jiles Road from Moon Station Road to Cobb Parkway. Project drawings will be available, and the proposed construction timeline will be presented for review.

3. Now entering its 28th season, the American Horn Quartet has captivated audiences all over the world. Tonight, they're coming to  for a special performance at the Bailey Performance Center. The music starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $15.

5. Did You Know? On this day in history in 1933, Giuseppe Zangara made an assassination attempt on President-elect Franklin D. Roosevelt. Instead, he shot Chicago Mayor Anton J. Cermak, who later died of his wounds.
