Here are five things you should know before you leave the house today.

1. Today will be mostly cloudy with a high around 73. Tonight, expect occasional showers, mainly after 2 a.m. with a low around 52.

2. Meghan McCain, daughter of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is speaking at today. She is the author of the memoir Dirty Sexy Politics: A True Story and a columnist for The Daily Beast. She is expected to give her perspective on the future of the Republican Party before opening up the floor for questions. The event starts at 5 p.m. in Prillaman Hall on the KSU campus at 1000 Chastain Rd. in Kennesaw.
