5 Things: Memorial Day, Graduation Announcements

Here are five things you should know before you leave the house today.

1. Your Memorial Day forecast includes sunny skies with a high near 91 and winds around 5 mph. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 68.

2. Cobb County government offices are closed in observance of Memorial Day. Kennesaw City Hall is also closed. No trash, recycling or lawn debris will be picked up today. Services will resume Tuesday.

3. Honor the sacrifices of the men and women of our Armed Forces. The National Memorial Day Association of Georgia and The Avenue of Flags will present their 63rd annual Memorial Day ceremony at noon today in the Marietta National Cemetery, located at 500 Washington Ave. Maj. Gen. Raymond Mason, deputy chief of staff for the U.S. Army at Fort McPherson, will serve as guest speaker. The event is free.
