5 Things: Middle School Masters, Facebook Art

Here are five things you should know before you leave the house today.

1. Today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 66 and an east wind around 15 mph.
Tonight, the low will be around 42 with occasional drizzle, mainly after 1 a.m. The rain will keep on coming over the weekend, with a 90 percent chance of precipitation Friday and Saturday.

2. The is offering a Mommy and Me class today at 10 a.m. The preschool program for kids ages 3-5 and their parents explores history with educational, hands-on activities. Today's theme is "Animal Train." Class is free with admission.

3. The is holding its Middle School Masters opening reception tonight from 6-8, showcasing artwork of local students.

5. Did You Know? On this day in history in 1931, the United States officially adopted "The Star-Spangled Banner" as its national anthem. The song, itself, comes from the lyrics of the poem, "Defence of Fort McHenry," written in 1814 by Francis Scott Key.
