5 Things: Town Hall with Congressman Phil Gingrey

Here are five things you should know before you leave the house today.

1. Looks like the warm weather is here to stay. Today will be mostly sunny with a high around 81. Things will cool down just a little as highs fluctuate between the 60s and 70s into the weekend.

2. Community members are invited to attend a town hall meeting with Congressman Phil Gingrey (GA-11) today. The meeting will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at , located at 2753 Watts Drive in Kennesaw.

3. Enjoy a guest piano performance by Reid Alexander at Bailey Performance Center. The recital starts tonight at 8, and admission is free.

4. In case you missed it, the Board of Elections yesterday, reporting a 90-vote margin in favor of the tax. Now, there's a regional 1-percent sales tax on the table. In summer 2012, voters will have the opportunity for regional transportation projects. Topping the list of proposed projects: a $2 billion light rail system that would run from Acworth to Midtown Atlanta.

5. Did You Know? On this day in history in 1916, last Emperor of China Yuan Shikai abdicated the throne, restoring the Republic of China.
