150th Commemoration of the Great Locomotive Chase

Come celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Great Locomotive Chase on April 12, 2012.  Special activities will mark the event in which James Andrews and a group of Union raiders captured the locomotive General in Big Shanty (modern Kennesaw), only to be pursued and caught by William Fuller and Confederates who used three different locomotives – most notably the Texas – over the course of the Chase.

6 am - Breakfast at Trackside Grille

8:30 am - Proclamation at the historic 1908 Kennesaw Depot

9:30 am - Museum opens, cannon fired to mark the event, free admission all day

6:30 pm - Dinner at Trackside Grill (SOLD OUT)

8 pm - Dessert at the Southern Museum with special guest, folk singer Bobby Horton
