Patch Staff Report

Kennesaw Big Shanty Foundation (KBSF) is pleased to partner with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics to present the first annual Super Hero 5K on Sunday, March 23, 2014.

The 5K run/walk is a family friendly event for Kennesaw and its surrounding communities. Runners and walkers of all skill levels and ages are invited to join this fun‐filled happening.

All participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Super Hero! Younger runners will have the opportunity to participate in either a 1 mile fun runwalk or Tot Trot while more “experienced runners” can test their limits on a runner friendly 5K course.

The KBSF was established to help offset some of the shortfalls created by budget cuts and to provide enhanced educational opportunities that otherwise would not be part of the Kennesaw/Big Shanty instructional curriculum.

You can obtain additional information about the race, including details on how to register and become an inaugural participant of the race by visiting the race website at www.SuperHero5KKennesaw.com.
