Fundraiser for North Cobb, Ducks Unlimited Banquet and Live Auction

Here are five things you should know before you leave the house today.

1. According to the National Weather Service, today will be cloudy with a high around 72 and a 70 percent chance of rain. There will be possible thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Tonight's low will be near 61 with a 90 percent chance of precipitation and further chance of thunderstorms.

2. in Kennesaw will be selling desserts tonight between 6 and 9 to benefit the Chorus Program. There are more than 175 students in the three choirs at North Cobb under the direction of Dr. Amy Foster. Some students will be spending Spring Break touring cathedrals in England with members of the school's Orchestra.

3. Ducks Unlimited is holding a tonight at from 6:30 to 11:30. For an $80 purchase of couple tickets, donors receive one Ducks Unlimited 1-year membership and two caps. For a $55 individual ticket, donors receive one Ducks Unlimited 1-year membership and one cap.

4. Center for the Study of the Civil War Era is presenting a special . Dr. David Parker, a professor of History at KSU, recently co-edited Breaking The Heartland: The Civil War in Georgia. He will lecture on one of the chapters he authored in the book. The free lecture will take place at KSU's Horace W. Sturgis Library Athenaeum on the library’s second floor.

5. Did You Know? On this day in Civil War history in 1864, Union General William Tecumseh Sherman burned the city of Atlanta, starting Sherman's March to the Sea.
