Why Go: Because you want to be immersed in the cowboy culture and hear western music, see western art and hear the finals of the Georgia Youth Poetry Contest.

Pricing: $10 admission

Why Go: Because your kids are looking forward to playing ball and you're looking forward to getting them out of the house for a few hours.

Pricing: $65 registration plus $20 for non-Cartersville residents

4. MISSY FLAPJACK AND THE BUTTERWORTH BLUES BAND

Where/When: ; Friday 9 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m., get there early)

Why Go: Because you want to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with the same band that brought down the house on with their mix of blues and rock-n-roll.

Pricing: $5 cover charge plus menu items; 21 and up only.

Where/When: Bartow Country Republican Party Headquarters, 162 W Main St, Cartersville; Saturday, 9 a.m.
