Great Escape: Smith-Gilbert Gardens

Each week, we'll recommend a mini-getaway in or around Kennesaw.

Need inspiration for your garden? Escape to one of north Georgia’s hidden gems right in our own backyard.

May 6 is National Public Gardens Day. Six Georgia gardens are participating, and we are fortunate enough to have one of them right here in Kennesaw. Visit to learn more about gardenscapes, how to choose plants that will grow well in your area and how to practice proper water conservation.

The gardens are home to over 3,000 species of plants, so enjoy the scenery in all its splendor as you escape to the beauty of nature's backyard.
