Patch Picks: St. Patrick's Day Celebrations

Today is St. Patrick's Day, so here are five great local places to celebrate the Irish holiday with food, spirits and fun.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations

  • in Kennesaw is planning an all day celebration that includes three live bands with no cover charge. Enjoy the musical styling of Crossville Station, Chameleon and the Kristen Tinsley Band. The Irish pub will have food and drink specials including $2.95 reubens and $5.95 corned beef and cabbage sandwiches. There will also be promotions and giveaways for items such as T-shirts. Paddy’s will be open on Thursday from 10 a.m.—2 a.m.
  • in Kennesaw is a great place to go if you’re looking for live entertainment this St. Patrick’s Day. Radio station Rock 100.5 will be broadcasting live from the Irish pub all afternoon. From 5—9 p.m., artist Jimmy Dean will be playing, and to finish the night, artist Shyanne will be performing at 9 p.m. The restaurant will have games, prizes and giveaways throughout the evening and plenty of green beer will be served. The Tilted Kilt will be open from 9 a.m.—2 a.m.
  • is a Cartersville restaurant and bar that offers a classy and comfortable atmosphere, yet it is a casual and affordable place to eat. For St. Paddy’s Day, City Cellar offers food and drink specials including Irish whisky and commemorative beer cans. Enjoy live music upstairs and downstairs. Get there early because St. Patrick’s Day is one of City Cellar’s busiest days of the year. Hours for Thursday are from 11 a.m.—2 a.m.
  • in Acworth is having a St. Patrick’s Day party complete with a live band in the evening and drink and food specials. If you are looking for a restaurant with a good atmosphere, Sidelines is a good place to go. Hours for Thursday are 11 a.m.—3 a.m.
  • Fadó Irish Pub and Restaurant in Atlanta will be having an all day affair for St. Patrick’s Day, opening at 7 a.m. for kegs and eggs. If you arrive before 8 a.m., you can skip the cover charge. The outdoor festival begins at noon featuring great entertainment, food and spirits. Located on the streets outside the restaurant on Buckhead Avenue, you will hear bagpipers, see Irish dancers and enjoy live music throughout the day and evening. Desire, a U2 cover band will play at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door. After 2 p.m., you must be 21 years and over to be in the event area. Festivities will be going on until 2:30 a.m. at the Irish pub.
