Run for Office; Lady Hoyas Run to Title

1. 4. Rep. (R-Marietta) will hold a town-hall meeting in Kennesaw at the on Thursday from noon to 1:30 p.m., and you can get a preview of that event during the congressman’s town hall in Cartersville today at noon. Kennesaw Patch plans to have live coverage of both meetings.

5. The qualifying period for the Nov. 8 municipal elections opens today. If you want to run for mayor or City Council Post 1 or 2, you must sign up at between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. today, Tuesday or Wednesday. Note that the office is closed from noon to 1 p.m. The entry fee is $576 for mayor and $360 for the council seats. You must be 21 years old, a registered voter and a city resident for the 12 months leading to the election date.
