Accomplishment: Monica became interested in an internship while serving with other students on the City of Kennesaw Youth Council. She helped with the project to develop the, which opened February 19, 2011. The Center provides an after-school program for middle and high school students to study and have fun, while focusing on their future. Monica works each afternoon at City Hall and also volunteers several times per week at the Kennesaw Teen Center, enjoying her time with other students and youth. Monica’s community service and leadership in related organizations comprise the majority of her extracurricular activity. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and outreaching to others in the community. “It is through service that I have met people from around our community, our country, and our world, and appreciate each person’s distinctive background, listening to their stories and life’s experiences,” says Monica. Through her many service opportunities, Monica says she helps others "realize the hope within their potential." Monica plans to continue her leadership and service commitment at college this fall. She believes that "we are all at our best when we help bring others to their best."
