Atlanta Baroque Orchestra Marks 16th Anniversary

Tickets are on sale now for performances in Atlanta and Roswell on Jan. 11-12.

Roswell Presbyterian Church will be one of the venues for the 16th anniversary celebration of the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra next month.

Peachtree Christian Church, 1580 Peachtree St., NW, Atlanta, will be the venue for a concert on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 7:30 p.m.

The Roswell concert will take place on Sunday, Jan. 12, at 4 p.m. at Roswell Presbyterian, located at 755 Mimosa Boulevard.

Works by Handel, Vivaldi, Telemann and Muffat from the ensemble’s first season, and the premiere performance of a new work by Martha Bishop, written to commemorate the occasion.

The performance will be directed by ABO artistic director Julie Andrijeski.

"It’s exciting that this Sweet Sixteen anniversary concert will feature many musicians who have been performing with the ABO since its first performances in 1998,” Andrijeski said.

“During our sixteen years, our musicians have developed strong artistic bonds that keep them returning year after year, in many cases from long distances, for the pleasure of collaborating to bring alive great repertoire for the music lovers of Atlanta.”

Here's the full concert program:

  • George Friedric Handel: Concerto Grosso in D Minor, Op. 3, No. 5, HWV 316
