Enercon Makes Kennesaw Its Home

The energy consulting company now has more than 350 employees here.

Energy consulting company Enercon has moved its corporate headquarters to Kennesaw from its birthplace, Tulsa, OK.

The company marked the move with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, during which joined company President John Richardson at Enercon’s Kennesaw office.

The move will add only five accounting jobs initially to the Kennesaw office, the Tulsa World reported, but it reflects dramatic growth for Enercon in the Atlanta area since the Kennesaw office opened in 1998.

Enercon now has more than 350 employees in Kennesaw on Townpark Lane, according to a press release. The company also has an office in Duluth.

“With our expanding U.S. and international operations, the availability of a qualified and skilled workforce, and access to great transportation, it made sense to relocate our corporate headquarters to Kennesaw,” Richardson said. “We are fortunate to have a highly skilled workforce available locally in engineering and environmental services, which is what Enercon needs.”

The company employs more than 1,200 people in 18 U.S. offices and one in Abu Dhabi.

“Enercon projects are known for their exceptional quality, and what better match than the deep pool of talent in Cobb County's workforce?” Gingrey said in the Enercon press release. In addition to representing Kennesaw, he is a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

The local expansion, Gingrey said, is “a great step forward for Georgians as we continue to work towards attracting businesses by providing a highly qualified workforce and a business-friendly environment."
