Goodwill of North Georgia will open the doors to its 45th store location on Thursday.
The new West Marietta store, located at 775 Whitlock Avenue, includes a drive-up donation center.
Including the new site, Goodwill operates half a dozen stores in Cobb County as well as a number of stand-alone donation centers in the area.
“Not only are we growing our Cobb County footprint, but with this new location, we were able to bring nearly 40 new jobs to the community,” said Director of Public Relations Elaine Armstrong.
Last year, Goodwill helped more than 10,000 individuals find employment across North Georgia.
When shoppers enter the West Marietta store, they’ll find bright graphics along the walls telling the story of Goodwill’s mission. “Our mission is to put people to work. We do this through a variety of job training programs and employment services. We use the sale of donated goods to fund those activities,” Armstrong said.
Those who visit the store during the first four days of business (May 23 – 26) will have the opportunity to enter hourly drawings for Goodwill gift certificates.
The new center will open to customers at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 23. Learn more about Goodwill of North Georgia by visiting goodwillng.org.
