Home Depot to Add Jobs in Kennesaw

The aggressive hiring effort comes as The Home Depot prepares for its busiest selling season.

The Home Depot announced Wednesday that it plans to hire 80,000 seasonal workers nationwide this year, and as many as 100 of those positions will be based at the retailer's two Kennesaw locations.

"We ... are on average hiring 40 to 50 seasonal associates per store," company spokeswoman Katherine Ellison said.

"Spring is always a special season for us, when we can offer employment opportunities for literally tens of thousands of Americans," said Tim Crow, the executive vice president of human resources. "We find some of our best associates during our peak season, and many of them have built long, meaningful careers with us."

The Home Depot has made a significant investment in Kennesaw. In addition to the Shiloh Road and Roberts Court retail locations, the company in October opened a $24 million national customer service call center that is expected to bring nearly 700 new jobs to the area by 2015.
