New Kennesaw Business Hiring

A handyman business that just moved from to will be hiring 7-10 employees immediately.

Rent-A-Hubby Handyman services the west metro Atlanta area from to Fairburn.

“Right now it’s been just me, and I’m wearing myself out,” said Rick Patterson, the company’s owner. “When people call a handyman, they needed him last week. They’ve tolerated it as long as they could.”

Patterson’s business began when he went door-to-door in his subdivision offering his services. He said he hasn’t been unemployed since.

“It’s always kept me busy,” he said. “Some neighborhoods I go into and people follow me home. I am not kidding.”

In addition to Rent-A-Hubby, Patterson owns Pretty Handy Lady, in which he employs women to serve females and senior citizens who have minor jobs.

“I’m not putting any ladies by themselves in a man’s house,” he said. “I don’t want them to be jeopardized in any way. Your older homeowners, they need little bitty stuff done here and there. Anything bigger, Rent-A-Hubby will do.”

Patterson said he likely will bring on more employees, but the initial hires will enable to be able to respond to calls from customer within 1-2 days, if not immediately.

“Manpower means you can have someone available when someone needs them,” Patterson said. “I’d rather have people on board and the demand be there than the demand be there and I can’t get two people.”

Eventually, Patterson would like to have 3-4 employees in every city with 10,000 residents in each quadrant around Atlanta.

“I would love to have an office in every major city in Georgia,” he said. “If homeowners know there is a reliable, affordable company out there that looks out for them, then that’s where they’re going to go.”
