Novelis Struggles to Fill Jobs

The aluminum company is opening its Kennesaw center this summer but can't find takers for six-figure-salary positions.

But somehow Novelis can't find takers for 20 openings at the technology center it's opening on Vaughn Road this summer, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

has advertised for , but even six-figure salaries haven't closed the deal for the Buckhead-based global business.

The company has 16 descriptions for active job openings on its website today:

  • Tribologist.
  • Technologists dealing with thermo-mechanical processing, surface anodizing, spectroscopy, instrumentation, heat treatment and brazing, corrosion, coatings and calorimetry.
  • Senior engineer.
  • Research metallurgist.
  • Pilot line technician.
  • Optical properties scientist.
  • Human resources manager for global research and development.
  • Group leader for applied engineering.
  • Engineer.

I know why I'm not applying for those jobs, aside from the fact that I couldn't be happier than I am at Patch: A prerequisite for any of those jobs is probably understanding what they do. Tribologist? Brazing?
