The department is teaming up with the Tennessee Department of Labor, the Georgia National Guard, the Technology Association of Georgia, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration, the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency, and corporate host Dollar General to sponsor expos across the state.
Dollar General is the lead corporate sponsor for Paychecks for Patriots in both Georgia and Tennessee. The company is working to bring national corporations to the expos to help make the connection with veterans.
Local businesses are also being recruited to participate by GDOL staff.
The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) is helping recruit technology companies across the state to expand the number of participating employers the service members and veterans can connect with.
The GDOL and the Georgia National Guard will be hosting a special kick-off celebration at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Clay National Guard Center, 1000 Halsey Ave., Building 447, in Marietta.
