Small Business Q&A: Brothers Pizza Company

In its first month open in , Ron King - who owns Brothers Pizza Company with his son, Ramsey - said his restaurant has been busy.

Brothers Pizza Company opened at the end of July in the building that once housed on Summers Street. In its second month, King plans to expand the restaurant's menu to include six sub sandwiches, and add karaoke and trivia nights, among other things.

King recently sat down with Kennesaw Patch to talk about the restaurant's first month in downtown Kennesaw.

How has business been going?

Very well. We've been very well received. I'm very happy.

What made you decide to open your restaurant in Kennesaw?

I'd been looking for a spot for three years. This came available, and I thought it would be a good spot. It's in downtown Kennesaw, and it's perfect for what I wanted to do as far as aesthetics. There's a porch outside and (room) inside. Kennesaw is a neat little town.

Why did you choose Kennesaw?

It's a nice town. People are local, they've been here a long time, and they appreciate local businesses. The city is easy to work with. I believe and continue to believe that people will support you. I feel confident about that.

What sets you apart from other pizza places?

We have a good location. We make our dough fresh every night, and our sauce we make fresh every morning. Everything is fresh as much as it can (be). We have beer on tap. That's really good to have. A lot of pizza places don't have that. What I like about it is it's laid back. Come in, watch tv, listen to music. Ithink our service is faster than most. Everything is made to order. We have a white pizza made fresh. We (also) have an outdoor fire place and bocce ball. I don't think anyone else has bocce ball.

What advice do you have for something thinking about starting a business in town?

Just do it. If you don't try something, you're never going to accomplish it. And, I think the key to business is just to treat everyone fair and polite.
