The Kennesaw-based company was recognized during the Cobb Chamber of Commerce First Monday Breakfast.

Kennesaw-based was named the 2012 Small Business of the Year by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution today at the Chamber’s First Monday Breakfast.

According to a release from the Cobb Chamber, the business provides project management fundamentals, communication excellence, risk management and earned value management to companies around the globe.

Founded in 2002 by Andy Crowe, the company now serves more than 30,000 customers and has provided services for clients such as eBay, Sirius XM, Chick-fil-A and Microsoft, the release said.

Velociteach also offers a line of project management products including live and online management classes, customized curriculum for corporate clients, flashcards, audio discs, and course kits licensed to other training providers.

Crowe leads a team of 26 full-time and part-time employees and contractors. In 2010, the company recognized all of their employees who exceeded five years of service. Every other year, the company flies in its instructors from across the country for an instructor summit.

In 2011, Velociteach contributed nearly 700 hours and over $24,000 in donations to local charities, the release said.

According to the Cobb Chamber, Velociteach was chosen from the nominated earlier this year and selected after a review by an independent panel of judges. The business will now go on to compete in the statewide small business of the year competition.
