A native of Atlanta and an active member of the community, Mitchell is also on the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta’s board of directors where he serves on the Planning Committee, and is a member of the Urban League Leadership Development Program.

“While Darin's mission at Fifth Third is to continue adding value to commercial bank and high net worth clients in areas of cash and asset liability management, we look forward to the value he will add to our Community Improvement District,” said Mason Zimmerman, chairman of the TCACID board of directors. “I have known Darin for several years and we’re lucky to have him. He is truly an inspirational community leader.”

TCACID was established in 1997 as a self-taxing district to promote infrastructure improvements. In 2000, a resolution was passed at the annual meeting to expand the purposes of the TCACID, allowing the CID to provide additional services and facilities for parks and recreation areas, as well as land use planning, development and improvement consistent with Cobb County’s coordinated and comprehensive planning.

In 2005, Mitchell earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from The University of Notre Dame. He was part of the Notre Dame Football team from 2001 to 2005, and is now an active member of the Notre Dame Club of Atlanta.
