AS CAMPAIGNING DRAWS TO A CLOSE.

I wanted to take a moment to express the overwhelming gratitude to the many citizens of Kennesaw who have embraced me when I knocked on your door. To those who interrupted me to say you had already voted for me - THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART! To those who have requested signs for their lawns - BLESS YOU FOR YOUR OUTWARD SUPPORT. To the lady who patiently waited outside her home to ask me to bring a sign back - YOUR REQUEST FILLED MY SOUL. To the lady who held my hands and said she could see my heart - YOU TOUCH ME TO THE CORE AND BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES, I apologize for crying like a baby in front of you. To the many who have walked before me to share with your neighbors - YOU ARE THE UNSUNG HEROES OF MY HEART. To those who have donated to my campaign (since I can not bring myself to ask for donations) YOUR BELIEF IN ME IS HUMBLING. As I sit here going over the past few months of meeting so many of you, I smile remembering the handshakes, the great conversations, the encouragement, the moment you decided this Republican wasn't so bad after all -LOL, the wet kisses of so many fur babies who greeted me at the door and on the sidewalks and let me give them some love and a bandana, those who honked their horns as they past me with thumbs in the air, and so many more memories made walking through your neighborhoods. I decided when I qualified I didn't want to send letters requesting donations - I wanted a grass-roots, back to the basics, meet the real people campaign - and that's what I've stuck to. I haven't sent a mailer because in this time of tight family budgets it just didn't seem appropriate to spend money sending people a card and expect them to get to know me from my own perspective - I wanted you to get to know me face-to-face. I haven't nearly covered personally all of Kennesaw that I've wanted but I'm not stopping yet. I have tremendous campaign workers walking many neighborhoods and sharing my vision and desires - and to them I owe a huge amount of gratitude and hugs (it's all I've got). You all have blessed me more than this ole' girl could have EVER imagined, and I'm humbled beyond measure. So, as the day draws near to cast your vote, let me say THANK YOU to those who have already voted for me, and to those who will vote on Tuesday, and press that box beside my name - THANK YOU. All that I can promise is to embed in my mind that YOU ARE THE REASON I AM STEPPING OUT TO DO THIS and I WILL HONOR YOUR TRUST. I love you all dearly and pray when Nov. 5 comes to a close, we all say a prayer for our beloved KENNESAW and her children.
