Here's 5 things you need to know in Kennesaw for Sept. 19.

1. After a cool and comfortable weekend, the temps will remain relatively mild this week. The National Weather Service calls for a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with a high near 77. Tonight there's a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with a low around 59.

2. The will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. The public is invited to attend. Several businesses are opening up or sprucing up within the city's limits. One is Trackside Grille on Main Street, which just held a ribbon-cutting for its completed expansion and renovation project. The expansion was facilitated through the Downtown Development Au­thority by a loan from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. The project features a new outdoor dining area, two stone fireplaces, a roof top patio, and expanded indoor dining and bar area. Trackside Grille has been in that location for nine years, according to owner Brett Olszeski.

3. Don't forget that the Kennesaw Farmers Market continues to showcase local fresh vegetables, fruits, bakery products, garden plants and other goods every Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Adams Park adjacent to the New vendors include Annie’s Baking, Turkey Creek Farms, and Rosemary Knoll.

4. On Thursday, Town Center at Cobb Mall kicks off homecoming week at from 4-9 p.m. "Hoot-a-Palooza KSU Night" at Town Center at Cobb will feature entertainment by Kennesaw State University organizations and offer special discounts to guests who show their KSU IDs. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and parent and family association members can enjoy an evening of fun as they prepare for eight days of homecoming activities, culminating with the "Owl Prowl" Parade/Festival at 4 p.m. Sept. 30, followed by “The Maine” concert at 6 p.m.

5. Fact about Kennesaw: is the city’s largest community park at 42 acres.
