Kennesaw Council Expected to Support Swift-Cantrell Wellness Station

Life University has offered to pay for the equipment in exchange for permanent naming rights.

Life University wants to leave its imprint at Swift-Cantrell Park.

And if all goes according to plan, a wellness station at the Kennesaw park will be named after the Marietta university, which has offered to donate the $35,000 needed to cover the cost of the equipment.

The Kennesaw City Council at 6:30 p.m. tonight is expected to authorize a resolution "to approve and support the permanent naming of the Life University Wellness Station at Swift-Cantrell Park," according to the council's agenda.

The city's parks and recreation department backs the plan, which would give Life a presence at all 5K races, Fit City events, Program Palooza and two movie events for a 3-year period beginning in 2013.

A final legal agreement will be brought to the mayor and council once Life approves the partnership.
